More than two years now we have been passionately trying to provide the easiest and friendliest transition to green mobility. By offering all-inclusive and flexible subscriptions for bicycles, electric bicycles and electric scooters, we take away any hurdle for someone to at least give it a try. Our vision is to free cities like Athens of transportation pollution. It’s an ambitious goal that we have set but we are on the right track!

It’s very interesting to see why people choose to make their daily commute green as there are many benefits.

1. Time to save some money: 63%

According a research done by Leaseplan, Greek car ownership costs monthly on average €547 for gasoline-powered cars and €534 for diesel cars . That is a huge monthly expense. Even if you replace the short rides with a bicycle, you can make significant savings monthly. In Figure 1 we compare the costs of a car with that of our subscriptions.

2. Environmentally motivated: 28%

Transportation pollution can account up to 46% in congested parts of Athens, that is 46% of the total emissions(!). In Figure 2, we find the average carbon emissions by mode of transport, so you can easily see what kind of impact you can make.

In 2020, 96 percent of Europe’s urban population was exposed to levels of fine particulate matter above the standard set by the World Health Organization. More than 300,000 deaths in Europe per year can be attributed to chronic exposure to fine particulate matter, according to the European Environment Agency (EEA) .
One of the most popular actions among the surveyed is to ban vehicles that have a negative impact on both the environment as their health

3. Improving their health: 9%

“The amount of people who use active mobility, walk and cycle in Athens is very small, only 11%, whereas in London it’s 27% and Barcelona 36%.” According to Professor Burdett of the London School of Economics .

Cycling daily will build up your cardiovascular and muscular endurance. By putting in consistent effort, you’ll notice an improvement in your aerobic capacity, on and off the bike. Cycling also releases endorphins, which are feel-good chemicals that can help ease your stress and generate positive feelings in your brain and body. So if you’ve had a rough day at work, nothing better than to cycle home.
